My ex wife and I have completely different styles of communication. She often asks me why the kids treat me differently, better than her, your CD's nailed the differences on the head. How you treat and communicate both verbaly, visbly and physically with your kids drives their responses to you. Its about teaching us in order to bring about a change in them!

We have a difficult child so have looked long and hard for help. We have read a number of different books, etc on the subject, and this program is by far the best we have found. The author James Lehman was a troubled kid himself and he has parented a child with ADHD so he understands a problem child's thinking and behaviour from the inside. He addresses faulty thinking and behaviour on the part of the parents and child alike as well as telling how to correct those. James is clear and direct, and following his direction is turning ours and our child's life around!

The transformation program has been a benefit to us as a family. Right down from the parents to the grandparents it enlighten us how to apply certain suggestions in a more positive manner.

After following all suggestions to the letter, including a written contract which my 18 year old grandson signed without protests, he decided to move out on his own after 3 weeks when he realized that all guidelines were steadfast. This, in my opinion, was not a failure. We were able to part with love and goodwill without rancor on either side, and continue to have a close relationship. Yes, he has lessons that life will teach him, but we feel good knowing that our part was in keeping with healthy parenting. No regrets. We have 4 kids ranging from 17 to 9. It was great to listen to the CD's and realize that we are experiencing normal thing from our children and that a lot of there actions and reactions are ways to control how we react.

My 13 yo son has multiple heart problems which caused me to treat him differently than our other son. As he got older, his behavior became worse. I work with many Spanish speaking parents; might a version be available sometime in Spanish? Also, more DVD's are welcome. Many of my families are visual learners. I personally like the audio CD's for my car, but many families are more geared to a TV format. Sad but true. (My Spanish daughter-in-law turns on the tapes, but doesn't really "hear" them.)

I was sad to hear that James has passed away. His experience and reinterpretation of effective parenting skills is so helpful and well presented for use by untrained folks as well as for therapists like myself.

Keeping the subject clearly in view and the conversation on point with no rabbit trails; THE TOTAL TRANSFORMATION makes raising children childproof. Kids are quick to successfully wrestle control from their grandparents but Dr. Lehman teaches the verbal moves and actions that give parents/grandparents significant advantage for grand success. Before we decided to buy the Total Transformation, I was seriously considering a military school or summer boot camp for my son. I stumbled onto the infomercial at 5 am one morning. My husband was on a business trip and I couldn't fall back to sleep. When I turned on the TV, there was The Total Transformation Program Infomercial and I almost turned it right off because I wasn't going to be "suckered" into getting anything from one of the commercials. Something made me watch. After hearing parents testimonies I found myself hysterical because I was going through everything they were describing. My almost 16 year old daughter was wrecking havoc in our home for almost a year and a half and I was constantly feeling like I was without hope.
